  • PHOTO PORTFOLIO COMING SOON

I am an industrial and visual designer focused on developing engaging experiences that encourage and embody environmentally and socially productive behavior. Designing meaningful experiences is a collaborative team process, and whether the medium is a product, an environment, an event, a website, a logo, or imagery, I love to help:

Design, think, execute, map, communicate, play, troubleshoot, engineer, dream, hack, conceptualize, shoot, implement, mock up, communicate, invent, develop, research, coordinate, manage, draw, fix, imagine.

Armed with a firm grasp of manufacturing processes, materials science, and cradle-to-cradle principles, I help clients reduce their footprint by finding ways to reduce waste during the manufacturing or printing process, utilizing recycled and recyclable materials, and designing for easy maintenance and disassembly. Oh yeah, and the most important one: designing beautiful, timeless experiences that make a positive difference and won't become tomorrow's trash.

Check out the portfolio above and get in touch. I collaborate with clients and teams from California to New York on projects large and small, and am always seeking out new opportunities.

    -- coming soon!

I help teams conceptualize, design and produce:

Products [hard goods & soft goods]

    Strategies

    Environments [outdoor & indoor spaces]

    Identities [logos & branding]

Graphics [motion, print, packaging & web]

    Illustrations [concept sketch & rendering]

    Imagery [portrait, lifestyle & storytelling]

While every project flows a little differently, my approach generally follows these steps:

    1)

Understand the needs, perceptions, desires and feelings of the client and intended user groups. This is the most important element of the design process, and often involves extensive conversations, writing exercises, open-ended brainstorming and mindmapping sessions, on- and off-location interactive user research, and market studies.

    2)

Distill research findings into a variety of ideas that translate client and user needs into engaging human experiences. Work closely with client and user groups to cull the best of these ideas and push them further. Think, draw, think, draw, aha!

    3)

Develop one to three of the best ideas into working prototypes. Make rough cad and physical models, mock up prints or screenshots, shoot a sample series. Get lots of feedback, especially from user groups. Don't be afraid to incorporate new aha! revelations.

    4)

Choose the best of the best with client and stock up on coffee beans, because this is the part where ideas become reality, and reality had better be refined to its core, beautiful and engaging for all the senses, and 100% functional. Continue to seek feedback from client and user groups throughout this refinement and production period.

    5)

Work closely with key people in the production chain to ensure ideas and intent are fully communicated and realized after hand-off.
